Portable
Most of the HippoEDIT settings are stored in xml files.
The only settings still in registry: NSIS (installer) settings, as installation directory, start menu location etc.
HippoEDIT also uses Windows %Temp% folder to store buffered service data between sessions. But not in Portable mode. If running portable, HippoEDIT would not leave any temp files on exit. But you should be aware that they are used to speed up loading of editor next time and for user file preferences, so editor will start slower and file specific settings will not be saved between sessions.
There are two ways how you can turn HippoEDIT in portable mode:
- using command line parameter -- portable
- or with XML parameter.
In any case, you need to also install HippoEDIT in Portable mode, to have all you data located aside with HippoEDIT executable.
