====== Formatting ======

The Format menu provides options for formatting currently selected text and/or lines. Note that commands in the Format menu are dependent on the language syntax of the current file. For example, using the //Format→Comment Selection// function will result in different output if an HTML file is selected vs. a JavaScript file.

Plugins can also affect formatting commands. If the [[plugins:xml-pretty-print|XML pretty print]] plugin is active, for example, it takes over several of the formatting commands.

Formatting settings can be controlled in [[options:formatting:start|Tools->Options->Formatting]].
